A few Valentine’s Day recipes for all the lovebirds out there. If…..

…if you had way too many dinners at the restaurant on Valentine’s day.
…if you don’t like set Valentine menus at the restaurant.
…if you want to be alternative and stay at home.
…if you have a shortage of ideas.
…if you are broke?

If any of the above applies, do not look any further. Here is a menu I “invented” by collecting easy recipe ideas on the web. Check it out!

PS. please forgive me for being a bit cheesy, but you know, it’s that time of the year, I can’t help it :-D

Now let’s start this imaginary food trail!

Aperitif: I would start with a sparkling Prosecco, accompanied with chocolate covered strawberries or  heart shaped cheese cookies .

Antipasti: aphrodisiac rock oysters with pepper and lemon . For seafood haters, zucchini Parmesan crisps or Shiitake Mushrooms with Young Pecorino Cheese. My favourite? Arugula and Goat Cheese Salad with Fig Vinaigrette :

Main course
: a classy Blue Cheese Crusted Filet Mignon with Port Wine Sauce, a Mamma Mia! Shells in a Ricotta Sauce, or a posh Pork Tenderloin with Plum Chutney. Personally I would prefer  Spaghetti Pesto and Dried Duck Breast , but “maybe” that is because I am Italian…

Dessert: Molten Chocolate Lava Cake or Port wine poached pears . They are both great choices, but I would have a Chocolate & Orange Croissant Pudding with a Grand Marnier-Orange Cream sauce !

Digestivliqueur: a bitter Cynar or Ramazzotti, or an Italian limoncello!

Post dinner: I guess I’ll leave that up to you ;-P
